Breakfast and afterschool clubs

We provide wrap around care within the dining halls of Forefield infant school. This is for children that attend both Forefield Infant and junior schools only.

Breakfast Club:

• Breakfast club starts at 8am and ends when the children go into class at 8.45/50am. The children have a choice of cereal and fruit with a variety of other options that vary each day such as croissants, crumpets and brioche buns.
• Children are encourage to have breakfast followed by a time to play. We provide many different games and activities for the children to enjoy such as air hockey, snooker, small world play and creative activities
• The breakfast club staff encourage the children to take part in all aspects of the club including helping to tidy the toys and equipment away.

Afterschool club:

• Afterschool starts at 3.30pm and closes at 6pm.
• We collect the infant children from their classrooms and we meet the junior children within their playground to escort and supervise them over to the infant school.
• The children are given an opportunity to play in and outdoors within the two rooms at activities of their choice.  We encourage the children to help the staff with planning the activities for the month ahead to give them a voice as to what they would like to do.
• We provide a healthy snack between 4.15-4.45pm. We encourage the children to tidy up, clean and set the tables alongside staff ready for the children to enjoy.

Nursery:

• We provide care for children from the age of 2 years until they go to school.
• Our 2 year old provision is available from 9am until 3.30pm Monday to Friday and our preschool (3-4 year children) is available 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday, using our wrap around care within the school.
• Throughout the day the staff work closely with the children building strong bonds and solid relationships. The staff plan the children’s day around the children’s interests enhancing the areas to ensure they are given every opportunity to develop.
• We offer breakfast for our early risers at 8am and healthy snacks morning and afternoon.
